Rishi Aurobindo Talent Group - my organization and my Institution

I can remember this day when I first went for scout camp at Kurseong at 1999. From Howrah district of West Bengal, total 13 boys and 2 girls went there. I became the fond of Scouting. My scout group name was Rishi Aurobindo Scout Group. Then I went many camps some district level, state level, group level. I became the organizer and trainer of the group. I got Rover leader training (senior group of scout-age from 18 to 25 years) under Bharat Scouts and Guide, at Ganganagar (West Bebgal District Scout camp site). I went to Azimganj, Narit, Birnagar etc for scout camp and outing. Even my school The Vivekananda Institution also became a camp site.

We every year make a grand celebration of 15th August, the Independence day of India. A colorful road rally of many pipe band teams, school teams, NCC, Civil Defense and many others sports teams and NGO groups join here. Thousands people join in this rally.
Every year we organize cultural program like Tagore birth ceremony, Bijoya Sammiloni (a get together after Duraga Puja); organize sports; Join in social service etc. Apart from these we join in 26th January Republican Day
parade and cultural ceremony organize by Howrah District magistrate office. This is also a competition, we several time win first prize in cultural program and parade.

From 2007 we change our group name and format. Now we are Rishi Aurobindo Talent Group. But still we try to continue the chronicle of sports, culture and service.

And I, I learn organization from this group. Leadership, Cultural performance, program arrange, tour arrange, public speaking, speech etc. I learn from this group. I got many good friend here, they are still with me-Rajendra Ghosh, Kaustuv Mukherjee, Dibyendu Mukherjee etc. Rajendra or Rajen is my friend from school life, and then he pushes me in this group. Rajen,s father Radha Gobindo Ghosh is secretary of this group. He is a great organizer, we known him as Bultuda. Now we are busy with our job so we can’t give too much time for this group. But Bultuda still continue. He is main life of this group. I got friends some older or younger than me, like Shibabrata Ghosh, Sanat Pyne, Bijit Bannerjee, Abhijeet Bannerje or Shenkoda, Sovan Mukherjee, Sujoy Chakraborty, Suvendu Nandi, Sarnendu Mukherjee and many others; And above all my respectable Nilabrata Mukherjee and Basudeb Rit.

Still I am with this group; I do not go there regularly. Because of my job, cultural program; now I am work and perform with many others cultural groups. But still I remember this small ground and children; their play, song, smile and shout; their small anger, fight, sad and cry.

Tarapith Tour...........

Tarapith is a renowned holy place for pilgrims of West Bengal. It so popular to Hindu devotee. According to Hindu mythology when God Shiva took his wife Sati’s dead body on shoulder and run throughout the world. Whole world going to demolish by his anger. Then God Vishnu tries to disappear Sati’s deadbody for decrease of Shiva’s anger. Vishnu cut the body of Sati by Sudarshan Chakra (weapon of Vishnu). On that time Sati’s eye ball was drop at Tarapith. Tara means eyeball and pith means holy place. This place also memorable for famous devotee sadhu and monk Bamakhyapa.

Few weeks ago I went to Tarapith and Shantiniketan. You know my previous blog about holi or dol at shantiniketan. At Tarapith we did and saw puja in Tara temple. We went to Smasan (Crematorium) atbank of Dwaraka River. This area totally dark, very few people go there. We saw the place of immolation. Cottage of kapalik (a monk or saint, who work with death and dead body) here you can take only candle and torch. There have no electric light. Tarapith is very famous for their very cheap and good food. You get here very good sweets like lancha and kalojam. We see the sight of Mundamalitala temple, Bharat sevasram sangha temple, house of Bamakhyapa etc. I went Tarapith after ten years and saw how this area changes and upgraded to modernity.

Dol or Holi at Shantiniketan

Dol or holi is the festival of colour. It is a very popular and wonderful festival of Indian culture. All over India it is celebrated. Shantiniketan is an educational and cultural institute. It was founded by Rabindranath Tagore. Rabindranath start this Dol utsav or Basanta utsav (holi festival or spring festival) at Shantiniketan. This year I want and see and take part in this festival.
No water colour, no balloons with coloured water, no coloured spray used her. People use only abir         (phag or coloured powder). Evening of previous day of Dol festival start with Baitalik (a cultural program of Tagore song). From morning thousands of people come and join in this festival. Shantiniketan without Tagore and song just a moonless full moon night. It is start with Tagore dance and song performed by student of Viswavarati Shantiniketan.

They come with dancing and singing. Every year this program held at inside of Viswavarati campus. But this year it is held at Purbapalli math or Bhubandanga math (ground). People came with yellow dress (sari for women Payjama and Panjabi for men). They mark by abir on their forehead and cheek. When cultural program complete we start coloured each others. We through abir at sky. Whole sky was change from indigo to multicoloured sky. Unknown people also came gave abir to us and we also greet them with colours. People danced and sang. Total area just became a colorful musical picture.

In evening we see the dance drama of Tagore, named Shapmochan (erase the evil boon). This is a fabulous dance drama performed by student of Viswavarati. This day is being remarkable in my memory for whole life.
