We live in new days but do not
forget our past. Like my school –my school ‘The Vivekananda Institution’. Swami
Vivekananda was one of renowned reformer of not only Bengal, also India. We
know him as a religious and social reformer. He gave a prestigious place to
Hindu Religion, Indian culture. When he delivered his historical speech on the
stage of world religious conference at Chicago, USA in 1893. He was founder of
Ramakrishna Mission.
At 1922 our school was
established in Howrah, at Kasundia Road. Then in 1926 it was sifted to Netaji
Subhas Road. At last in 1957 it was sifted to new address, that is 7/8 Naskar
Para Lane, now it is Known as Swami Vivekananda Road. This is one of the best
school of Howrah. In spite of many obstacle, financial problem, glorious saga
of this school still flow. Many scholars, famous man once read in this school.
In future they spread their precious work to whole country.
I am a very ordinary student of
this school, I started my school life in 1987 from class one. I attached with
this school till twelfth standard.
First day, when I go to this
school for admission test with my grandpa, and uncle- I was cried loudly for
didn’t go into the school room. Any way then I passed this test, and took
admission. This was morning schedule.
I got some friend in this school.
At first which school I did not like, after some day I am waiting eagerly for
school time. I was fond of choto bari (new and small school building), Boro
bari (Old and big school building), school ground and play there. Till today I
remember the love and scold of teachers. One day at Tiffin time I ran through
suddenly I stuck with a teacher. I felt afraid for scolded but I strange to see
he smiled and handshake with me.
I liked school library, every
week we got a book for reading. Many story book I read from this library. We
always eager for tiffin break, no not for food for play. In rainy day we also
played in ground. After school time sometimes we did not want to go home, for
play. Because this type of big play ground really rare in Howrah city.
Classes one to four are morning
section, and class five to twelve day section. At morning section when science
lab was locked, we climbed to outer window of lab from outside of building for
saw the Skeleton of man at biology lab. One day my guardian called for my
fault, I was accused for hit a boys ear and make bleeding. I remember that I
said another boy told me so I did it. Teacher told in front my mother, if your
friend told for jump to fire, are you do that?
I liked specially literature,
history and geography. For love to literature I joined at sahity sava (literary
meet) at school. Where I wrote some poem and short stories in Bengali. I was
fond of recitation from this time. Till today I am with recitation and
anchoring for this day’s experience and remembrance.
Every year alumni students are
arranged alumni associations, every year I could not go there. But when I go I
still recall this gold plated school days.
